about CCB
The Center for Capacity Building (CCB) is a program within the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), Director's Office.
The Center for Capacity Building (CCB) focuses on human and institutional capacity building related to climate-society-environment interactions. Its initial and primary focus of concern is enhancing the use and value of climate and climate-related (weather, water, disaster, etc.) information for the betterment of societies and the well-being of individuals. The program explores the many ways that climate- and weather-related issues influence human activities and how human activities can, in turn, affect those issues. CCB will highlight existing, as well as pursue new, innovative multidisciplinary opportunities that link the physical, biological, social sciences and the humanities. A central activity of CCB is Climate Affairs. The Affairs template consists of a set of concentrations: Science, Impacts, Policy & Law, Politics, Economics, and Ethics & Equity. The template is designed to foster multidisciplinary education, training and research.
